New Balance calls this colorway Dark Arctic Grey, but on the shelf it reads as an off-white cream suede with olive green at the heel and a gum outsole. It is the warmest-looking 574 we carry, and the gum sole is what separates it from the other pale versions.

Fit and Construction

  • Suede and mesh upper in off-white cream with olive green accents
  • Gum rubber outsole rather than the usual white or black
  • ENCAP midsole cushioning, which New Balance describes as a polyurethane ring around an EVA core for support and durability

  • Anyone who wants a warmer neutral than a plain grey or white
  • Worth knowing that cream suede shows dirt. If you are hard on shoes, the Castlerock or the brown are easier to live with
