The 574 is the most recognizable shoe New Balance makes, a hybrid road and trail runner from 1988 that became the brand's signature. This is the Sea Salt and Linen colorway, a soft cream with warm beige panels that suits lighter clothes better than the darker versions do.
Features
- Suede and mesh upper in cream with warm beige
- ENCAP midsole cushioning, which New Balance describes as a polyurethane ring around an EVA core for support and durability
- Rubber outsole
- Removable insole
- Unisex sizing 4 through 15 in standard width
Best For
- Everyday casual wear, which is what the 574 has become despite its running origins
- All-day standing and walking, thanks to the ENCAP cushioning
- Warm weather and lighter outfits, where an all-black sneaker looks heavy
- Standard width feet, since this colorway is offered in D only
